Your photographer is an important part of your wedding day
and it is their professional ability you will rely on to capture those
special moments which you will cherish forever. Choosing the right photographer
is all important. |
Most photographers would advise you to book in plenty time so that you
have your preferred photographer with you on our wedding day. Competent
photographers are normally booked well in advance, especially for Saturdays.
Some couples leave their choice of photographer to the last minute and
then find it hard to book their preferred one.
Getting to know your photographer prior to the day is well worthwhile
as is being happy with their style.
David Hoskins of makes a point of meeting his clients
on several occasions prior to the wedding so that the atmosphere on the
day is relaxed and happy.

The cost of photography will vary a great deal as will the quality and
service. The cost, style of photography and the time taken are only three
of the areas to be discussed with your photographer and probably least
important is cost.
It is surely more important to engage the services of a competent photographer
who will create the images you wish and not what they want. Consider the
cost of the other services required for your wedding - floral displays,
bouquets, buttonholes, etc can cost in excess of £500, the brides dress
may cost in excess of £1,000.
Your photographs are a lasting memory of your special day, so the results
must be of a high standard.
Many photographers will tailor their packages to your budget, allowing
you a wider choice of final photographs. A very basic package may cost
as little as £100.00. As with all services, in most cases the more you
pay the better the quality. |
How do you find a photographer?
Personal recommendation will no doubt play an important part and while
this is a good way to find a photographer you will still need to visit
a few studios and have a look at their work to ensure you like the style
and can get on with the photographer.
Many suggest looking for an accredited member of a recognised body, such
as The Master Photographers Association or the British Institute of Professional
Photographers.
